The Aim of the Team
God spoke to us through a prophetic word, that of a fisherman casting his net from the shore, and to ensure the reach of the net, the leading edge was lined with weights. God was highlighting for us that to see plentiful 'fishing of men' in Lille, we would need to line our net with leading edge ministries. It's with great excitement that we anticipate hosting a supernatural themed conference, with Grantley & Floss Watkins bringing edifying teaching and powerful activation in a lifestyle empowered by the Holy Spirit. If you have French-speaking ability and are keen to usher in the favour of God for church planting along the Eurostar line...venez à Lille !!
French language skills
To be part of this team you will need to have a good grasp of the French language. Although the meetings will be in English and French, the local people attending will not necessarily speak English. As members of this team we will be asking you to communicate with people in the local language.
CALM APPART HOTEL 2 rue des Buisses 59000 LILLE
Situated in the centre of Lille, a stone's throw from the main station hub, our weekly Sunday venue, CALM Appart Hotel, will provide the conference venue.
Eurostar! By far the best option ;)
Car share (plus ferry or Eurotunnel Shuttle if coming from the UK - 1h15mins Calais to Lille)
Flights: no direct flights from the UK to Lille but you can fly to Charleroi in Belgium and get a connecting train.
We have a slight reduction with our hotel conference venue :
Studio CALM (25m2: double bed, 2 persons) - at 71,00 € per night and per room.
Studio PLUS (30m2: double or twin bed, maximum 3 people) - at the price of € 79.00 per night and per room. It is possible to add an extra bed for the 3rd person in addition to 10,00 €.
LUXURY Studio (40m2: double bed and 2 sofa beds, maximum 4 people) - at 104,00 € per night and per room.
Otherwise a more reasonable option is the Ibis Budget Lille Centre, 10mins walk from the venue, at 46 € / night https://www.accorhotels.com/fr/hotel-5208-ibis-budget-lille-centre/index.shtml
Tea, coffee and water is provided by the hotel but food during the weekend is each person's responsibility. There are lots of places to eat around the venue, including supermarkets.
This is still being finalised but roughly it's as follows:
Friday - arrival and free time
Saturday - all day programme
Sunday - morning meeting, lunch then departures
To join a team we will need to have a quick chat to one of the Elders in your local church. There is nothing to worry about, we have your best interests at heart. We will just be checking that this team is the best way for you to get involved in the mission.
We will support you through the following process:
