COURAGE

We live in a broken and hurting world, a world where daily lives are gripped by a climate of fear and people simply don’t know where to turn. We are called to be a Church for a broken world, but in such a climate God’s people can also become fearful and try to hide in the shadows. While we long for God to move we can feel intimidated and overwhelmed with so many questions to answer.

David faced similar circumstances in his day, yet when everyone around him stepped back in fear, David stepped forward, confident of who God was and what he had been called to do.

This confidence didn’t spring out of nowhere. David had been leaning on and learning from God for years. As the youngest of eight brothers, David lived his life out of sight doing a lowly, lonely job. Yet what he learned of God during this time prepared him for the moment he was called forth to make an impact in his nation. He embraced the anointing and promises that God had laid before him and was steadfast in the knowledge that God had the power to fulfil these promises. David was only a young shepherd boy, but with God he could defeat the greatest opposition.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!
— Psalm 31 v24 (ESV)

David showed true COURAGE.

God has prophetically encouraged us as a family to raise our expectations and take giant steps forward. He has promised to 'enlarge our tents', an enlargement that will see us change nations and bring Kingdom impact to different continents and cultures across the world. He has asked us to plant Kingdom seeds in spiritually barren land.

We believe that a spiritual awakening is coming, a time where God is saying ‘I am ready. Are you ready for new adventures with me?’ This will require COURAGE.

God has promised our family of churches much, we have an exciting adventure ahead of us. But as we embark on this journey we must step into the light and not hide in the shadows. We need to awake to the call God has entrusted us with. And we need to do it together.

In May 2018, we are calling on our family to gather, to join hands across the generations and explore what it means to be courageous as a family and as individuals. To stand up and step out to face the challenge our broken world has laid before us.

COURAGE is expressed through faith and action: faith in God’s promises and in his power to fulfil them, and action to play our part. David embraced this and defeated the giants of his day, imagine what we can do in ours.

At this event we are joining together our Leadership and SENT conferences under one roof. The event is therefore open to students and 20s as well as all those in (or aspiring to) leadership roles in the church or workplace.

The event will take place 30 May - 2 June 2018.

Booking will open on the 29 September @ relationalmission.org/courage

More information will be made available at the time of booking!

Let us take COURAGE together and step into new adventures.
