We are the Yeoman family and we are part of the wonderful City Church in Canterbury. We have three fantastic boys, Luke is nearly 11, Joseph is 9 and Ethan is 3.   We joined City Church having previously served a church plant into Deal where Michael was an elder for around 9 years.   In September we will be planting out from City Church into Whitfield (3 miles from Dover – the Gateway to Europe) and launching a new Relational Mission plant called Renewal Church.  God challenged us last year to step up and step out for Him, and we're really encouraged that over these last few months God has confirmed this to us in a number of ways.

Whitfield is situated at the end of the A2 before you reach Dover, on top of the very beautiful White Cliffs, surrounded by beautiful Kent countryside.  Once a small village, Whitfield is now in the middle of huge investment and building projects and is about to double in size – around 5,500 homes will be built here over the next 10 years or so, bringing around 13,000 people.  These new families need to meet Jesus!

A few years ago God showed us a picture of the UK with flames across it.  He spoke to us about wanting to renew his church, renew his people, and renew those around us who are yet to be saved. This picture deeply impacted us and us as a family and our desire is to see it happen - we are excited because we believe that God is preparing hearts and moving people to begin this work and the nation will be changed as he revives his church again.  Some years before this, a prophecy was shared that God was preparing a harvest in Whitfield – a harvest of souls.

We would love you to join us in prayer for Whitfield as we launch Renewal Church.  We would also love to hear from you if God has been preparing your heart for church planting and you would like to be part of what God's doing in this end of the world.  We already have a few families that are coming to put their hands to the plough for this harvest and we will begin by meeting as a church in the local village hall.  The community is really keen to welcome us and there is already some excitement about what is taking place.

*  We feel that worship is going to be key in revealing Jesus to His church and to the lost in Whitfield, so if you have a heart to worship or you are a musician then we would love you to consider joining us.  We already have around 10 children coming with us and the youth are a crucial part of our Church family – if you have a heart to love our kids like we do, and you want to see them grow up in Jesus, then come and be part of our team.  One of the ways we feel God will lead us to reap the harvest is through relationships that are obviously evangelical – Jesus will be part of our everyday conversation with neighbours and businesses, families and colleagues, so if you have a heart to reach out and be a witness, come and get stuck in!

Come and join us on the adventure of Revealing Jesus, Following the Spirit, and Pursuing Revival!

With love, Michael & Selina Yeoman

MORE ABOUT ID:

Why be an ID intern?

ID is a year-long church internship program designed to help you walk with Jesus into the adventures that he has for you. Over the course of the year you'll be immersed in the life and mission of a local church, where you can serve in a wide variety of exciting ministries and be lovingly discipled. We also expose you to exciting missional opportunities with Relational Mission churches in the UK and Europe.

We want to intentionally disciple you. To help you grow in knowledge and passion for God, to learn you are you, and how you can live and speak for Jesus in every area of life.

Why host or send an ID intern?

Our hope is that ID not only blesses the individual interns but also the churches that host and send them. Having an ‘IDer’ in your church who is well invested in and given opportunities to serve and step out demonstrates a commitment to investing in individuals.

Likewise, sending folks on ID shows that as a church you are committed to Christ’s commission and value the apostolic as much as the local.

So, who could you send onto the course? Could your church offer someone a placement?

Who is it for?

Anyone aged 18+ who is able to take a year out and who wants to grow in their faith.

ID can be a wonderful opportunity for college/school leavers to get a solid foundation of theology and character before heading to the work place or off to university. Likewise for those finishing university considering what to do next. We have also had a good number of men and women in their twenties and thirties take career breaks in order to do the course. We haven't yet had anyone in retirement come onto the course, but we’re open to that!

I'm in! How do I apply?

The application process can be found on the ID webpage. Applicants complete an online form which comes through to the ID team who then contact the sending church to discuss the applicant and the placement options available.

Or you can contact Matt Fell directly to ask any questions and to find out more.
