What a Wednesday!

Andy Moyle reports on an “astounding, eye opening and challenging” Business Link conference last month…

Wednesdays, the middle of the working week. It's another day of meeting clients, chasing suppliers, mentoring team members and fulfilling orders.

Wednesday 23rd October was different! Business people from across Relational Mission in Europe gathered together in a nice hotel near Stansted to worship, encourage and learn from one another.

The beautiful venue was at its Autumn best and the day started with voices raised together in worship of our great God.

Marian Noronha the CEO of Turbocam International was our main speaker. Turbocam is a worldwide high tech company employing over 1000 people. It would be no understatement to say that the sessions Marian and his team led were astounding, eye opening and challenging.

It was so helpful and stirring to have Karen Kircher back again this year. Her session on building meaningful relationships really made us think beyond making those transactional relationships we often have in the business world.

Relational Mission was ably represented by Maurice Nightingale who talked us through the RM plans for Pioneering and encouraged us to be involved and to bring our skills as business people.

With worship, plenty of tea and coffee and a good lunch, the day just flew by.

It would be hard to believe that no one would not have come away from the day without having benefited from the excellent  teaching, the camaraderie or just the fact it was good to take time out and let God in on our Business World.

Daniel Goodman, who leads City Church Cambridge and came with some business people said:

As a church leader I was so encouraged to connect with people in the world of commerce, learning from them and beginning to understand the world they live in, the pressures they face, the help they need and the great good that they are doing!

The overall opinion was "when should we do this again? " ...watch this space!
