Recently I told a friend that I had been asked to write an article about the Relational Mission weekend in the Netherlands, and she laughed and said, “Why would they ask you? You say what you actually think!” So, what would a person who says what they really think have to say about a weekend conference attended by 400 people, representing all different ages and stages of life?
We always put being with people and praying for people first. A lot of people who come in to the bookshop are just at their wit's end. These folks don't necessarily need good book recommendations. So we offer to pray, to sit and listen, to spend time with them. That expression of community comes first. I think it’s what Jesus did.
This year our ID students went to the Philippines, South Africa and Lesotho or the Netherlands! We reached out to three of them to hear more about their experiences.
