Broadcasting around the world

In September of 2020 our new podcast was launched. Its first episode was titled ‘Introduction to Relational Mission - a Way of Life’. Since then, four more episodes have been released, reaching listeners from around the world.

Many years ago, Mike Betts wrote a book called ‘Relational Mission' - A Way of Life’ outlining the vision and values of Relational Mission. The book was short and digestible - the perfect format to benefit eldership teams, church leaders, youth groups and small groups alike. The goal of the podcast was to further build on the topics introduced in this book to explore in more detail their application to church life, as well as answering some of the trickier questions that arose.

The journey so far

Since its launch, we are four chapters into the book. As well as the introduction, there’s an episode for “A Real Family” (how can the church navigate life less as an organisation and more as a family?); “Everyone a Witness” - (how do we make evangelism an accessible and normal way of life for all members of a church family?); and two episodes on “Raising Sons & Daughters” - (how can we cultivate a nurturing environment for emerging leaders in the next generation?).

The response has been very encouraging so far! Our first episode was listened to well over 400 times; and each subsequent episode is receiving over 100 plays. Our audience is growing with each release, and we have our sights set on continuing to create conversations that will prove helpful to listeners across the Relational Mission family.

We are especially encouraging listeners to send questions they have to podcast@relationalmission.com, to be addressed in future episodes.

Looking forward

We are excited for the next few episodes that are lined up; with special guests joining from around the Relational Mission family of churches. Stay tuned for episodes covering the following topics:

  • The Prayers of Many

  • Church for a Broken World

  • Starting New Families

  • We have a Compass but No Map

If you’re enjoying the podcast, why not share it with others?

As with the book, each episode contains content that is helpful and relevant to people across the whole of Relational Mission and beyond. We particularly encourage church leaders to see this as a great tool for helping your church get to know the Relational Mission way of life is and explore our vision and values in more depth.
