We need to raise up leaders both within and beyond the church

Do you lead a team at your workplace? Are you heading up social outreach initiatives in your community? Are you stepping into more responsibility at church in the worship team, discipling young people, prayer ministry, children’s work, small group teaching…?

LEAD is a two year course designed for current and emerging leaders to grow in gifting, knowledge and godly character so that whether they are managing a team at work, leading a charity or planting a church they bring Christlikeness to all they do.

We want as many people as possible to be taught, trained and equipped to lead in God’s kingdom. If you are old or young, a man or a woman, and you are called to leadership in the church, workplace or community, then LEAD is for you - LEAD is for ‘the chosen many’. Not only do you get a deeper understanding of the Bible and how it all fits together, but you grow in more focused areas of leadership - learning practical skills in your choice of preaching, prophetic ministry, church planting, kids work, evangelism or the workplace in online huddles led by an experienced practitioner. Not only that, but you can choose to supplement the Bible teaching with readily applicable training in two additional areas of interest: doctrine, key leadership skills, being naturally supernatural, being a Christian in the workplace and church-specific leadership.

Alongside many immersive days of excellent teaching, you also get to experience local mentoring. Here's what one of our recent students, Garrett, had to say about this:

“My sphere of influence is small, but seems to be growing all the time. I am a leader in my home to my siblings, as we all share a non-believing father. I am also a leader in my friendship group, and I'm involved in leading or co-leading small groups at Life Church, Peterborough.

“After LEAD, my approach to leadership has become much more intentional. It is no longer a passive gifting, but one which I pursue the use of. I had originally chosen my huddle (preaching and teaching) to grow in leading my small group, but if God calls me to preach I now feel more prepared to respond.

“Now, I can not only get much more out of a Sunday morning preach, but I also feel more capable in my own teaching. To pair with my huddle, my mentor Deryck took me under his wing as he led our life group, and I was privileged to learn how to lead better alongside him. I have grown under his encouragement and challenge. There have been times when he has had to teach me the hard way, or call me out on behaviour stunting my growth. To have someone in your life who can not only hold you accountable on a peer-level, but who can teach you from experience, is something I will recommend for all Christians to pursue.”

Raising up and equipping leaders is essential for what we feel God has called us to as a family of churches. We want to see godly leadership at all levels in the Church, workplace and community - so if you feel called to lead in any way, whether within or beyond the church, consider investing in your leadership gifting through LEAD.
